Knowledge Database

The blog is the centerpiece of Shamisen-Zentrale. Every week there is a new article about songs, playing techniques, and practical tips, but also about the historical background and the socio-cultural context in which the instrument and its music are embedded. The goal is a constantly growing encyclopedia that illuminates all facets of the Shamisen.

The Tools

When things get serious, you need an instrument. Until now, acquiring a Shamisen in this country has involved enormous effort. With the first Shamisen shop in Europe, a new era is dawning for this great instrument. Here you will find lovingly refurbished used instruments, sheet music, strings and other useful accessories that you need to play. Save yourself the language barrier, exchange rates and decision fatigue: From now on, you can get fast shipping, curated products and excellent advice directly from Berlin, Germany.

Learn Shamisen

Video courses are currently being diligently created so that Shamisen can be learned independently of time and place through self-study.

But there is also the possibility of taking private lessons, attending workshops, or learning in a group in a club. A colorful mix of everything also sounds like a good plan 🙂 Read here where you can learn Shamisen and how.

Don’t be shy – just write an email and then we’ll get in touch.
