Knowledge Database
The blog is the centerpiece of Shamisen-Zentrale. Every week there is a new article about songs, playing techniques, and practical tips, but also about the historical background and the socio-cultural context in which the instrument and its music are embedded. The goal is a constantly growing encyclopedia that illuminates all facets of the Shamisen.
The Tools
Learn Shamisen
Video courses are currently being diligently created so that Shamisen can be learned independently of time and place through self-study.
But there is also the possibility of taking private lessons, attending workshops, or learning in a group in a club. A colorful mix of everything also sounds like a good plan 🙂 Read here where you can learn Shamisen and how.
Together We Are Stronger!
If you like what you see, read and hear, then I would be happy if you support the unwavering enthusiasm and idealism of the project on Patreon! An immense amount of time, effort, love and nerves goes into processing the know-how and information in the texts, videos and tutorials that are being created here. Help bring more sunshine and music into the hearts of those who need more of it. Feel free to send a small greeting directly to the tip jar or become a supporter on Patreon, where all supporters receive access to exclusive extra gimmicks every month.
Experience Shamisen Live
Performances can also be booked here: Shamisen solo, as a duo, with taiko or vocals. Live Shamisen music is still a rare occurrence outside of Japan. Let’s change that together! Wether it’s your next family celebration, a company anniversary, or an exhibition opening, Shamisen music is so versatile entertaining that it fits every occasion. Don’t be shy – just write an email and then we’ll get in touch.
